Arsenal hit with Thomas Partey injury blow as midfielder undergoes surgery

The 30-year-old has made just four Premier League appearances this season and will now be sidelined for at least two months as he recovers from surgery to rectify a thigh injury.

Arsenal are currently unable to determine when Partey will be available to return to action but the midfielder will be absent for the club’s busy fixture schedule over the winter period.

Partey’s last appearance for the Gunners was as a late substitute in the 1-0 win over Manchester City. He then played two games for Ghana during the international break in October.

Partey was then left on the bench in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea on October 21 but suffered an injury in training ahead of his side’s clash with Sevilla in the Champions League three days later
